2017 S A National Squash Mixed Doubles Champions Milnay Louw Christo Potgieter returns to Johannesburg this weekend to defend his 2017 title when the Tswalu Championships are played at the Johannesburg Country Club Squash Complex this weekend.
The A sections will run from Saturday 17th March until Tuesday 20th March.
Western Provinces’s Louw, ranked 1 in the country and Potgieter ( North West ), who earned his first National cap in 2017 representing South Africa at the World Men’s Championships, top the mixed doubles seedings with Central Gautengers, Michael Wood and Cheyna Tucker in second slot .
Potgieter, who also captured the Men’s Doubles title in 2017 with J P Brits , pairs up with fellow North Westerner Jimmy Schlebusch to be the top seeds . Central Gautengers, Dylan Groenewald and Wayne Sithole slot in at 2 with Midlands players Alan McQuigan and Daniel Smith the third seeds.
In the women’s doubles, last year’s winner Tucker partners Louw in what will be a formidable combination. Nicola Helwick and Adel Sammons are the second seeds with UJ students Kacey-Leigh Dodd and Alexa Pienaar the third seeds.
This week has seen the entrants in the Men’s B, Women’s B , Mixed B sections: Men’s C sections and Masters sections in actions with the finals being played from 9h00 on Saturday 17th March.
Play starts at 12h30 on Saturday 17th March until 18h00 : 9h15 – 18h00 on Sunday 18th March with the semi-finals on Monday 19th from 17h30 followed by the finals from 17h30 on Tuesday 20th March
