The Jesters National U23 Series has now entered its fifth year!
Once again the series will be on a national basis meaning that any U23 player may enter all of the tournaments. We therefore encourage all players to travel to each of the 4 tournaments!
Each tournament will be open to all players 16 and older and under 23 by the commencement of the finals – 26 September 2014. Each regional event will have as many sections as needed to accommodate all entrants but will be limited to draw sizes of ether 8 or 16 players.
This will mean that strength plays strength from round 1 and also younger players of 16, 17 and 18 years will now have a chance to win a prize in their own section! Each player is guaranteed 4 matches.
We encourage players of 16, 17 and 18 years to enter!!!
There will be 4 tournaments: Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban and the finals in Joburg. The top 12 will automatically qualify for the finals event with 4 additional places being given to players who the committee of SA Jesters feel have earned it. The Joburg “Finals leg” will also have a B and C section so as to allow all other players who did not qualify for the finals an opportunity to enter an under 23 tournament in the Joburg area.
The Tournament Dates:
Cape Town: 22 – 24 August
Port Elizabeth: 29 – 31 August
Durban: 19 – 21 September
Johannesburg: 26 – 28 September – Finals for top 16 AND regional event
* Each tournament will be open to all players 16 and older and under 23 by the commencement of the finals – 26 September 2014.
There is a guaranteed prize money pool of R35 000 with a minimum of the top 4 in each section receiving a prize!
* ENTRY FEE IS PAYABLE AT THE INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT AND NOT VIA EFT. THE FEE IS R180 PER EVENT. EACH PLAYER WILL RECEIVE A COMPLIMENTARY GIVE AWAY.
* Entries for each tournament will close 5 days prior to the event at 18h00 and each player will be notified the draw via email 3 days before the first round.
