Virtually on the eve of departure to the World Men’s Team Squash Championships in Mulhouse, France, where South Africa is seeded 7th, Steve Coppinger, South Africa’s national champion, got a welcome boost when the PSA (Professional Squash Association’s) monthly rankings were released on Saturday 1st June, as he moved up two positions to number 16.
A personal highest ranking for Coppinger and the highest notched by a South African on the world rankings in nearly two decades.
South Africa’s number 2 player in Mulhouse, Shaun Le Rou, moved three places to number 48 while Clinton Leeuw is now 87.
On the World Women’s Rankings Western Province’s Siyoli Waters continues her climb up the rankings jumping 4 places to 34. University of Johannesburg student Cheyna Tucker is 75th with Milnay Louw on 126
The Men’s World Team Championships take place in Mulhouse , France from 9th – 15th June 2013.
