National Junior Training Camp

South Africa’s top junior players : Aubrey Lawrence, Lawrence Kuhn, JP van der Merwe, Wayne Sithole, Justin Wesson, Kacey-Leigh Dodd and Makgosi Peloakgosi attended a National Training camp at the Parkview Squash Centre on Saturday 26th July and Sunday 27th July in preparation for their participation in the World Junior Individual and Team Championships to be staged in Windhoek, Namibia from Sunday 10th August until Thursday , the 21st August.
On Saturday Craig van der Wath, convenor of the National Junior selectors arranged a match for them against the “Young Pros.” Thoboki Mohohlo, Craig van der Wath, Kyle Maree, Gary Naidoo, Jarryd Carter put the junior men through their paces while Julia le Coq and Alexa Pienaar played the junior women.
On Sunday morning a practice session was run by Calvin Deutschmann , the manager.
The team leaves on Thursday 7th August. Wesson, Dodd and Pelaokgosi who are playing in the Individual championships return on Saturday 16th August, with the team and manager leaving on Friday 22nd August.
Kacey Leigh Dodd is seeded 13/16 in the junior women’s championships which has 45 entries. There will be 117 junior men in the Individual championships with 24 countries participating in the Junior Men’s team championships.
