Last nights matches saw some outstanding squash especially from the South African players that notched up some upsets, notably from SA no 6, Zambian Kelvin Ndhlovu coming from 0-2 down to register a 3-2 win over Frenchman and no 4 seed Joan Lezaud in 71 minutes of scintillating squash, then Thoboki Mohohlo SA no 9 clawed his way back from 0-2 to register a 3-2 win over Englishman Robert Downer in 55 minutes.
In the women’s draw all the seeds cruised through winning 3-0. Unfortunately WP local player Karen Blom retired hurt in the 2nd game against no 3 seed Julia Lecoq with a ruptured Achilles and will be operated on today, our thoughts are with her.
