This past weekend 18-year-old Selborne College Grade 12 learner, Tristen Worth, captured the Border Leg of the Growthpoint Regional Squash Championships when he defeated second seed Geoff Stephens 3-1 in the final.
Third seed Jimmy van Niekerk finished 3rd accounting for Reuel Videler, also a Selborne College Grade 12 learner, in straight games 3-0.

There were a few minor upsets when the Border hub of the Growthpoint Regional Championships started in East London at the weekend.
9th seed 15-year-old Luke Jacoby, winner of the Bloemfontein Open Junior under 16 title in March 2020, caused the first upset outplaying 8th seeded Joshua Roberts in straight games 11-8, 11-7, 12-10.
In the quarterfinals, 18-year-old Reuel Videler, a member of the National junior men’s squad for 2020 edged through 13-11, 11-7, 11-8 against experienced 4th seeded Kelvin Edwards.
