In the Women’s PSA Main draw final Egyptian U17 no 1 player, Rowan Elaraby took 43 min to beat South African no 5 Milnay Louw, 3-1 to win her 2nd PSA tournament in 2 weeks. It was the first game she had lost in 8 matches on South African soil. Milnay was also tested for the first time this week and both players showed great athleticism and speed moving each other around the court. Milnay never gave up and kept the intensity resulting in the 3rd game win for her but Rowan showed her class and amazing temperament for a 15 year old player clinching the 4th 11-9.
In the Men’s Main draw no 2 seed Aqeel Rehman, Austrian no 1 beat unseeded Egyptian Hesham Mohamed Aly in 60 minutes 3-1. After winning the first game 11-4, Aqeel found himself 3-8 down in the 2nd after Hesham raised to an early lead, never giving up he fought his way to 9-9 and then went point for point eventually clinching the 2nd 15-13. Hesham again started the 3rd game quickly easing into a lead and this time he hung on securing the game win. Aqeel bounced back and showed some amazing skills of fetching and a steady temperament closing off the match 3-1 to win his 8th PSA final.
