In the Women’s PSA Main draw Egyptian U17 no 1 player, Rowan Elaraby took 29 min to beat South African no 2 Elani Landman, 3-0 to reach her 2nd consecutive PSA final in 2 weeks where she will again meet Milnay Louw who she played in last weeks Assore Central Gauteng Open final. Milnay outclassed Cheyna Tucker to win in 3 games also yet to be truly tested in this event not having dropped a game.
In the Men’s Main draw the talk of the evening was the match of the tournament with no 2 seed Aqeel Rehman, Austrian no 1 beating the no 3 seed Argentinian no 2 Leandro Romiglio in 75 thrilling minutes of entertaining squash. The match was a replay of last weeks epic Assore Central Gauteng Open Final where Leandro won the match 20-18 in the 5th game (92 minutes). This time it was Aqeel who was able to clinch the match 3-2 and setup his 8th PSA final against unseeded Egyptian Hesham Mohamed Aly who beat South African JP Brits 3-0 in the other semi-final. This will be Heshams first PSA final.
Tonight the final matches starts from 17h00 with the Women’s Open A Section Final followed by the Men’s A Open Final, then the PSA Women’s Final at 19h00 and then the Men’s Final at 20h00.
