Information for referees — 5 Comments

  1. I have been marking and refereeing and coaching squash in Zimbabwe for some time, going back to 1990’s. In 1998 I manged the Zimbabwe U19 for their 1st ever appearance at the World Junior Men Squash Championships – Princeton New Jersey, USA
I have been tournament Referee on a number of both Zimbabwe Junior Championships and Zimbabwe Open Champs going back to days when the likes of ANGIE CLIFTON-PARKS (EASTERNS), RODNEY DURBACH (WP, MICHAEL TOOTILL (GAUTENG), CRAIG VAN DER WATH (EASTERNS) and Trevor Wilkinson used to come to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and play either in the Queens Bata Open or Zimbabwe Open Champs.
I don’t have any paper qualification but have the experience, what can I do to get a qualification. I would like to set up a Marking and Referees Group in Zimbabwe and help our ever increasing number of Juniors whatake part in your Inter- provincials year in year out.
I am a school master at Falcon College and coach squash for the juniors.

  2. Good day
Can you please advise on the correct way to start on the referee road? I have been playing some league squash years ago and since then a lot of social squash. I would like to embark on the journey to becoming a referee.

    Thank you

    • Good day Bertie,

In which province are you based? I would like to get you in contact with your local referee body and we can proceed from there.
