Jesters National U23 Series

The Jesters National U23 Series has now entered its fourth year after three
extremely successful years.

Once again the series will be on a national basis meaning that any U23 player may
enter all of the tournaments rather than just being allowed to participate in their
own provincial leg. We therefore encourage all players to travel to each of the 4
tournaments!

Each tournament will have an A, B and even C section if necessary by placing a
maximum of 16 people in the A section and 8 people in the remaining sections. This
will mean that players of all strengths and also younger players of 16, 17 and 18
years will now have a chance to win a prize in their own section! This will also make
each section highly competitive and more evenly balanced from the first round
match! Each player is guaranteed 4 matches.

We encourage players of 16, 17 and 18 years to enter!!!

There will be 4 tournaments: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and finals in
Durban. The top 12 will automatically qualify for the finals event with 4 additional
places being given to players who the committee of SA Jesters feel have earned it.
The Durban “Finals leg” will also have a B and C section so as to allow all other
players who did not qualify for the finals an opportunity to enter an under 23
tournament in the Durban area.

The Tournament Dates:

  • 16 – 18 August – Johannesburg
  • 23 – 25 August – Cape Town
  • 13 – 15 September – Port Elizabeth
  • 27 – 29 September – Durban

Finals for top 16 and also DBN Leg

Each tournament will be open to all players 16 and older and under 23 by the commencement of
the finals – 27 September 2013.

The prize money for each regional event will be a minimum of R6 000 and each player will receive
a free shirt for their R180 entry fee. The finals will have a minimum of R10 000 in prize money!

Entries for each tournament will close 10 days prior to the event at 18h00.
